How We Are Working Safely During Covid-19

We’re making sure our staff can continue to work safely during the Covid-19 pandemic.

On March 11th 2020, the AOC Holdings Ltd Senior Management Team (SMT) implemented a UK Company-wide AOC Covid-19 Action Plan. This listed key actions required by the SMT and all staff to ensure the Resilience and Continuity of AOC Services and, crucially, ensure that AOC staff continued to work in a Safe Environment (office and on-site) across our 5 UK offices.

Since the implementation of the Action Plan the SMT have met regularly to review and implement necessary actions. Critical to this Plan was the circulation of a Daily Update from our Health, Safety and Well-Being Director to all staff to keep them abreast of developments and appropriate Health and Safety measures across the Company. These measures have always followed best practice in relation to Govt and Industry advice.

As AOC's Managing Director I also sent regular (often daily) updates to all staff to give them an open and transparent overview of the wider industry, sector and environment and my view of the implications of Covid-19.  In keeping with many of AOC's existing policies (eg EDI, Flexible Working etc) all AOC SMT have encouraged an open dialogue with our clients, staff and supply chain to discuss their worries and undertake continual improvements. Our policies and actions are reviewed daily, both by ourselves and our clients.

Following UK Govt advice, we published our Working Safely During Covid-19 document on the 12th May 2020. This document outlined how AOC's existing policies and procedures aligned with the current UK Govt advice as outlined at https://www.gov.uk/guidance/working-safely-during-coronavirus-covid-19. The Plan also contained bespoke Onsite and Off-Site Covid-19 Risk Assessments, toolbox talks and inductions.  This was a live document and was updated and reviewed when AOC SMT provided additional policies and procedures and Govt (UK and Scottish) and Industry advice were updated and/or changed.

Since March 2020 AOC has continued to operate in a safe environment and aided the management and delivery of a suite of essential services and construction projects; we have been lauded by many of our clients for our pro-active approaches which have always followed industry standards. For the last 9 months we have continued to operate in a safe environment and we have fulfilled all of our client obligations.

At the beginning of 2021, and following the UK and Scottish Govt announcements on 4th January regarding new laws and guidance, AOC has reviewed and updated our Covid-19 Safety Plan and our Office Risk Assessment. This is to ensure that we continue to uphold best practice and ensure all of our staff and supply chain work in a safe environment during this unprecedented global pandemic.
