Hillforts in Callander’s Landscape

Archaeology Resources for Schools

The resources provided here were produced by AOC on behalf of Callander’s Landscape, an exciting and ambitious landscape partnership that sought to transform the Callander area into the ‘Outdoor Capital of Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park’. Callander’s Landscape aimed to better connect Callander, its people and its visitors, unlocking the secrets of the area’s awe-inspiring landscape’s rivers, woodlands, mountains, heritage and history for all to enjoy.

We’ve included information aimed at reachers/educators, considering hillforts and the Iron Age generally, as well as specific information about the hillforts excavated as part of Callander’s Landscape. Please use the resources to bring archaeology into the classroom!
