Terrain model scanning at Castlelaw Hillfort 

Accurate digital terrain models can be constructed using data acquired by the laser scanner for the purpose of landscape survey, such as the terrain model scanning undertaken by AOC Archaeology Group at Castlelaw Hillfort, Midlothian.

The resulting data was fully geo-referenced and merged with data acquired using total stations and GPS. A terrain model like this can also be imported into GIS and integrated with existing cartography, aerial photography and remotely sensed data.
