| During
the excavation the diggers took samples of all the different
soils and sediments on the site. These sediments will be used
to glean even more information about the people who built and
used the site and the local environment in which they lived. |

However, because
we took over a thousand soil samples from the site we have to decide
which samples will provide the most information and so these, as
well as all the finds are now being assessed for their potential.
Once the assessment
phase is completed full post-excavation will begin, with a wide
range of techniques being applied to build up a detailed picture
of life at Braehead around 2000 years ago.
