If so, AOC Archaeology is a forward looking company, with a highly skilled and dynamic team of over 100 providing a full range of archaeological services from offices in Edinburgh, York, Leeds, London and Inverness. Our highly successful programme of community archaeology and public outreach projects is at the forefront of our organisational output and we are currently looking to recruit a Community Archaeologist to provide maternity leave cover at our Edinburgh Office.
This opportunity is for someone with enthusiasm and commitment who will work closely with our project managers to initiate, co-ordinate and manage community archaeology projects. You will be comfortable working with local schools and community groups, in volunteer management, designing and working with learning and outreach materials and in assisting with the delivery of fieldwork.
You will have confident communication and presentation skills and a knowledge of social media platforms.
A degree in archaeology or a related subject together with a sound understanding of British archaeology and archaeological techniques is essential. CIfA membership would be advantageous, and a CSCS card would be desirable. Computer literacy and a clean driving licence are essential, as there may often be a need to travel around the UK with overnight stays.
