Yvonne joined the Consultancy department at AOC Archaeology in April 2018 after gaining a distinction in her master’s degree in International Cultural Heritage Management. Since this time, she has undertaken and produced numerous Archaeological and Historic Environment Desk-Based Assessments as well as contributing to Heritage Statements and Environmental Impact Assessments for sites across Scotland and England. She has also been responsible for developing Scheduled Monument Consent applications, gaining permission from both Historic Environment Scotland and Historic England for infrastructure and service works to be carried out. Her work involves advising clients and consulting with a wide variety of professionals.
Yvonne has substantial fieldwork experience, having worked with AOC Archaeology from 2014-2018 in the Fieldwork department. This has involved excavation, watching brief and evaluation works regarding prehistoric defensive and settlement sites and medieval and post medieval urban archaeology, such as the excavation and reporting of the 18th – 20th century Abercorn Brick and Bottle works in Portobello, Edinburgh where she acted in a supervisory capacity during the works and throughout the reporting stages.
Since 2014, Yvonne has been involved in a number of community and outreach projects. She has worked with the Tay Landscape Partnership and Perth and Kinross Heritage Trust to conduct the excavations and school programmes for pupils at Moncreiffe Hillfort and King’s Seat, Dunkeld. In addition, Yvonne was part of the team excavating the exceptional Iron Age site at Black Loch of Myrton.
