Kim Hosking

Project Supervisor


Kim studied Archaeology at the University of Bradford and later completed a Masters in Zooarchaeology at the University of York. She has worked in commercial field archaeology in the UK since 2012 and is skilled in all aspects of archaeological investigation, recording and site survey in sites across the country. Kim moved to Yorkshire in 2016 and continued to work in excavation and post-excavation in the North of England, also gaining experience as a finds and environmental processor.

Kim joined AOC Archaeology York in March 2020 as a Supervisor. She has worked with clients and contractors on a range of project scales from watching briefs to major infrastructure projects. As well as supervising archaeological excavations, Kim has considerable expertise as a geoarchaeologist and conducts borehole surveys for AOC. Since her zooarchaeology masters, she has also spent time analysing faunal assemblages from various sites spanning the Iron Age to Medieval periods.  Her work includes sites within the UK as well as working in the zooarchaeological laboratories at Pompeii, Italy, and Catalhoyuk, Turkey.
