Gethyn first became interested in archaeology whilst volunteering on a site on Vancouver Island at age 17.

Gethyn studied at Bournemouth University, attaining a degree in Roman archaeology. He supervised community projects for several years on the Bournemouth University’s Durotriges big dig site.

Since joining AOC in 2019 Gethyn has worked on a variety of projects including watching briefs and large infrastructure projects within London and a wide variety of English rural sites. Gethyn has been supervising watching brief projects and has developed his skills in GPS survey.
