Fiona Jackson

Project Supervisor


Fiona joined AOC in December ­­­2020 and has been involved in various projects across Scotland. Working on small to medium scale excavations, historic building surveys, evaluations and watching briefs as well as producing post excavation reports.

She graduated from Bournemouth University in 1999 with a BSc hons degree in Archaeology. Whilst working as an archaeologist in Kent and London, Fiona gained experience working within geomatics and as a result decided to specialise in survey. In 2003 she graduated an MA in Archaeological Survey from Durham University, specialising in topographical and building surveys.

Fiona has over 20 years’ experience working within archaeology and the construction industry. Before joining AOC Fiona worked for a number of commercial archaeology units as a Survey Project Officer/Graphics Officer, Site Assistant and Experienced Archaeologist on a wide range of rural and urban archaeological projects in Scotland, England, France, and Poland. Along with archaeological survey work Fiona has worked within commercial surveying for over 10 years as a Land/Building Surveyor and Setting Out Engineer, executing a variety of different survey projects at various levels for planning purposes. Fiona is a trained First Aider and is CSCS accredited.
