Clare Leevers B Arch, Grad DIP Arch
Site Assistant (Geophysical Survey)
Clare joined AOC Archaeology Group in February 2015, and is an experienced field archaeologist, having worked on both commercial and research-based sites in Australia, England and Ireland.
While undertaking a Bachelor of Archaeology at Flinders University, Clare was involved in a wide range of archaeological projects, including excavation and survey in Australia and abroad. These experiences led her to complete a Postgraduate Diploma in Archaeology, also at Flinders University, during which time she further developed her practical and research skills, primarily focusing on Australian historical/post-settlement archaeology.
After graduating, Clare worked in Australian commercial archaeology, primarily on Aboriginal sites, in both excavation and post-excavation before moving to the UK in 2014. Upon arrival she worked as an Assistant Supervisor at the Bamburgh Research Project in Northumberland where she was responsible for students both during excavation and in the environmental department.
Clare started work for AOC as a field archaeologist in September 2014 and was involved in an array of projects throughout the south of England, large and small, rural and urban before joining the geophysics department in February. She has since worked on a range of sites across Great Britain, including large scale gradiometer surveys and a smaller urban based ground penetrating radar survey in advance of housing developments and solar farms across the midlands and north of England.
