Becky Wilson

Project Officer


Becky completed her undergraduate degree in History and Archaeology at the University of Edinburgh in 2015. Throughout her degree she took part in a number of community excavations and training excavations. Becky started her commercial career in 2015 and has predominantly worked in North England and Yorkshire. She has worked in both rural and urban settings including a Roman cemetery and a buried medieval stone building in central York. Becky also enjoys public outreach and archaeology and has taken part in a number of open days and teaching days in her career.

Becky joined AOC York in 2020 as a Project Supervisor and was part of the Doggerbank Windfarm Mitigation and the Lelley Road excavations in East Yorkshire and Humberside. As part of the Doggerbank project she supervised the excavation of roundhouses, ditch enclosures and nationally significant archaeology.          As well as onsite excavation works she has undertaken large scale watching briefs in Nottingham and borehole surveys as part of geoarch works in Lincolnshire. Becky has also completed a number of reports and illustrations as part of post-excavation. Becky was promoted to Junior Project Officer in 2022.
