Recording One of Fyvie Castle's Guardians

Earlier in 2019, AOC’s survey team recorded one of the infamous ‘Guardians’ of Fyvie Castle in Aberdeenshire, an estate steeped in 8oo years of history. These unique carvings, adorning the rooftops of the castle, range from musicians to sports players to mythical beasts. Now in desperate need of repair, one of AOC's surveyors braved a huge elevator platform to undertake a photogrammetry survey of a musical guardian. For more on the project see the National Trust for Scotland's page here, and to explore the model of this wee chap, visit AOC’s sketchfab page here.
