The PB Building, Gas House Lane, Rochester, Kent

This property was a warehouse thought to have been built in the 1930s and enlarged by 1955. The most recent use of the building was as a printworks on the northern side and a garage/ MOT testing station on the southern side.

The building is a typical interwar warehouse type building for industrial use. The manufacturers of the steel girder frame, Dorman Long and Co (based in Middlesbrough, since 1875), were significant manufacturers of steel beams and constructors of significant buildings such as the Tyne Bridge and Sydney Harbour Bridge. The PB building is a far less auspicious but still interesting example of their work.
